We have seen strong demand for molasses based liquid feeds on farm over the winter as livestock farmers have sought to get the most from poor quality silage and adapt rations to improve margins on the back of the milk price falling.
Scottish Farmer Eke out silage supplies
The wet weather will delay turnout across the country and silage stocks will start to run low, by incorporating a proportion of straw and molasses in the diet this will be an effective way to eke out silage stocks.
Feed Compounder Straw and Molasses
Straw and molasses will help extend silage stocks minimising the consequences of any delay to turnout. Due to the continued wet weather, the prospects for turnout are not encouraging meaning many farms are unable to graze effectively, putting pressure on silage stocks.
Northern Farmer Sheep Feeding this Winter
The wet and cold weather this winter has settled in now, making the job of maintaining ewe condition a challenge. Although dry feeds and forages are necessary, a molasses-based liquid feed can be the ideal complementary feed in the ewes'diet.
